MRS. MABEL FAW GARNER

Mrs.Mabel Sheets Faw Garner, age 85, of NC Highway 16 North, Millers Creek, NC passed away at her home on August 21, 2009 after a brief illness.

Born April 9, 1924 in Ashe County she was the daughter of Claude and Rosa Bowlin Sheets. She was a member of Union Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Bryant Faw and Herbert Garner, her parents, five brothers, and one sister.

Surviving are one daughter, Evelyn Faw Bumgarner and husband, Terry of Wilkesboro; one son Bobby Faw and wife Alene of Millers Creek; one sister, Opal Wicker of Siler, City; four grandchildren, Kristy Bumgarner of Charlotte, NC, Robin Church, Julie Triplett, and Joseph Bumgarner of Wilkesboro, NC, six great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM at Union Baptist Church in Millers Creek with Rev. Steve Faw and rev. Julius Blevins officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church in Glendale Springs. The family will receive from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.

The family requests no food. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke, Duke University Medical Center, Box 3624, Durham, NC 27710 or Hospice of Wilkes, 1907 West Park Drive, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
