Mr. Ralph Laphonso Pearson, better known as "Pete" or "Mountain Man" age 78, of Pearson Mountain Road, Boomer died Sunday, October 18, 2009 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday 2:00PM, October 21, 2009 at Pearson Family Cemetery with Rev. Jeremy McCarver and Rev. Paul R. Laws officiating. The family will receive friends at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 6 until 8.

Mr. Pearson was born September 3, 1931 in Wilkes County to Jettie Victoria Pearson. He was a retired carpenter. Mr. Pearson served in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Micah Pearson.

He is survived by: his wife, Lena Harris Pearson of the home; two sons, Jeff Pearson and wife, Tina of Ellijay, GA, David Ralph Pearson and wife, Sandra of Granite Falls; one brother, David Arrow Pearson and wife, Jessie of Boomer; four grandchildren, Kayla Pearson, Katey Pearson, Kody Pearson and Cory Pearson and his beloved dog, Heidi.
