Mr. William Bruce Oakley, age 73, of Oakley Ridge Road, North Wilkesboro died Sunday, October 18, 2009 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 2:00 PM, October 21, 2009 at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. William Souther and Rev. Rodney Blake officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery in Windy Gap. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1 until 2 prior to the service.

Mr. Oakley was born February 27, 1936 in Wilkes County to William Boyden and Joyce Felts Oakley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Clara Pendergrass.

He is survived by: a special friend, Helen Mash of Statesville; eight sisters, Mable Gregory, Lorene Blake both of North Wilkesboro, Bonnie Billings, Wanda Wilson both of Wilkesboro, Sue Kivett of Greensboro, Ruby Walker of Alpharetta, GA, Betty Smithey of Moravian Falls and Linda Reeves of Millers Creek.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2672 Hunting Creek Road, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
