MR. ROBERT JUNIOR LAWS
Mr. Robert Junior Laws, age 86, of Boone Trail, Purlear died Tuesday, October 20, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
Funeral services will be held 2:00, Friday, October 23, at New Hope Baptist Church in Purlear with the Rev. Mike Stamper and the Rev. Darrell Poole officiating. Burial with military honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1142 will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30. The family will receive at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 Thursday night.
Mr. Laws was born in Wilkes County, June 15, 1923, to Milas and Flora Missouri Yates Laws. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Mr. Laws served in the US Army during World War II.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Laws was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Virginia Cooper Laws.
Mr. Laws is survived by one daughter, Lilah Laws Wiles and husband, Wade of Purlear; one son, Harold Douglas Laws and wife, Gail of North Wilkesboro; one sister, Allie Belle Wingler and husband, Howard of Purlear; three grandchildren, Jason Laws, Heather Melton and Lauren Laws.
