Mrs. Maxine Roope Dyer, age 84, of East Brocktown Road, Moravian Falls died Monday, July 12, 2010 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday 2:00 PM, July 14, 2010 at Cub Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Alfred E. Andrews, Jr. and Rev. Homer Greene officiating. Burial will be in Mountlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 at the church prior to the service.
Mrs. Dyer was born May 21, 1926 in Wilkes County to Freelin Filmore and Mary Belle Absher Roope. Before retiring, she was a supervisor at Modern Globe for over 40 years. Mrs. Dyer was a member of Cub Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by: five sisters, Delphia Watkins, Vada Bullis, Alverda Jones, Elmina Eller, Genie Parsons; six brothers, Morgan Roope, Garley Roope, John Roope, Clifton Roope, Marvin Roope, Warren Roope
Mrs. Dyer is survived by: her husband, James Monroe Dyer of the home; one son, Jerry Dyer and wife, Linda of Gainesville, GA; one sister, Victoria Bumgarner of Wilkesboro; one granddaughter, Roxanne Burnett; two great-grandsons, Ridge Burnett and Rocco Burnett.
